Fire Marshal’s Office
The Fire Marshal's Office is responsible for:
- Review and approval of site and architectural plans/details for all new commercial and assembly use building construction, plan approval for existing building remodels
- Issuing required fire department Certificates of Occupancy
- Providing fire and life safety approval for special event permitting
- Issuance of fireworks and blasting permits
- Performing 50%, 80%, 100%, annual, follow up, and complaint inspections of all commercial and assembly use structures for compliance with fire and life safety codes
- Providing comment on rezoning applications regarding Emergency Services impacts
- Performing cause and origin investigations of fire scenes
- Investigation and prosecution of arson incidents
- Community Risk Reduction by providing fire and life safety education programs, teaching CPR and AED use, child safety seat installation, and day care provider first aid
- Performing voluntary residential fire safety inspections by request
